How Bulundum Works

If you have lost something:

You have two options: You can register your lost item in our database, and we will be on the lookout for your item; or you can search our public lost items database.

Registering your lost item

In case your item has not yet made its way to our database as a found item or the finder chooses not to post this item to the website due to the sheer volume of the lost items they handle. If you do not see your item when you search for it, you can register or login to fill out the Lost Item Form and our system will begin to look for your item in the database. You will be notified in case of a likely match and the confirmation and retrieval processes will begin.

Using Bulundum search functionality

The search form in our homepage is a simple one, just enter an item or a location name.

The detailed search page, on the other hand, allows you to enter details like date and location. This allows a more refined search, where you can pinpoint your item much easier.

Once you perform a search, Bulundum will provide you with a list of possible matches. If you see an item that you think is yours, go ahead and make your claim. You will need to register with Bulundum if you haven't already done so.

After signing in, Bulundum will ask for details when you are claiming an item. Provide as much detail as possible to ensure a quick and accurate match. You should provide any information that will prove you as the owner of the item. The information you share is confidential, not published on the website and only used for matching and proving ownership.

Once you submit your claim, our system will notify the finder.

The finder of your item may contact you with further questions to ensure you are the rightful owner of the item through our secure messaging system or you can ask questions using the system.

Once you are confirmed to be the rightful owner, you can either pick the item up in person or choose to have it shipped to your address.

In case you choose the shipment option, you will be provided the tracking information and can follow you item in the cargo process.

If you have found something:

Register to our system and fill out the Found Item Form to record this item to our database.

Carefully decide what information you will share publicly as you do not want to provide personal information or information that should be used to identify the rightful owner.

Enter all the details about the item as well as the circumstances of how you found the item.

Provide a public and private image if available.

Submit to record the item in the database.

Once there is a claim or a lost item notification, you will be contacted to initiate the confirmation process.

You can ask questions to ensure the item indeed belongs to the claimer.

Once you confirm the owner, all you need to do is to securely place the item in a package and hand it over to the courier at your door.
